This hub lets you add more USB 2.0 peripherals to your desktop or laptop computer. It has 4 downstream ports that will connect either a new USB 2.0 high performance peripherals or the legacy USB 1.1 devices.
Connecting The USB Mini Hub |
In order to get the USB 2.0 performance, make sure you properly have your PCI 2.0 Card installed.
There are actually a couple different versions of this hub, so the directions may vary slightly.
A USB Y Power Cable is included, which connects the hub to your computer. This cable has two USB type A connector ends. One black and one transparent. Connect the black USB A type connector to computer USB port. Connect the black USB Type B connector to the hub.
The Transparent USB Type A connect connects to the computer USB port for additional power to this hub.
To add further power to this hub you would need to contact your local electronics store for a switching adapter.
Plug and Play |
This hub is fully Plug and Play.
If your computer does not recognize the new hardware and/or asks for drivers to install for this device to work you will find the drivers from within the Windows Operating System.

All other versions of Windows: If the hub does not work or you have any driver issues, please look for the drivers on your windows install CD Rom or do a windows update from microsoft.com while the hub is attached to the computer.
Windows XP machines that come with a repair/restore CD may want you to insert the repair CD Rom to update your drivers. Again you should do the process with the Hub attached.
There are no 3rd party drivers for this device.
