The most important part of the installation for this cable is to install the drivers and programs before attaching the cable to the computers.

After you have installed the drivers and programs, connect the USB Link Cable to both computers. Upon the cable being plugged into the computer the 'Found New Hardware' wizard will run. 

NOTE: If you plug the cable into a non-Hi-Speed USB port, windows will show an alert message telling you so. You can still use the cable but it will not run at high speed. Windows will then recommend you add a Hi-Speed USB host controller to the system. You can locate further information about this topic here: USB.org
